Attending MDC? Arrive early and be inspired!

The California Architectural Foundation (CAF) and the AIA Monterey Bay Chapter are hosting An Evening of Gratitude & Inspiration at The Chapel at Asilomar, beginning at 5:30 pm the night before MDC kicks off. Raise a glass with colleagues over wine, beer, and light appetizers, then settle in for a presentation by author, artist, and designer Joe Rohde, centering on his new book, "Floating Mountains: The Art of Imagining the Impossible."

Drawing on more than three decades of bringing ambitious ideas to life, Rohde will explore how creativity, storytelling, and disciplined imagination expand what's possible, and how bold concepts survive the journey into built form. A book signing, and opportunity to chat with the author will follow.

It's the perfect way to connect with peers before MDC begins, and to celebrate AIA California and the nearly 950 individuals and firms who have supported the Foundation since its re-invigoration in 2023. Attend and show your support for CAF's scholarships and programs dedicated to inspiring and supporting the next generation in the profession.
