You may have heard of the California Architectural Practice Experience (capX) program but haven’t yet tried it, or you may already be participating and looking for ways to strengthen or expand how you use it within your firm.
This virtual peer-learning session will highlight real-world examples of firms using capX in different ways, including a paid internship, a job shadow experience, and a virtual mentorship model for students.
Featured speakers will share practical insights from their experiences, including how they structured participation, managed time and staffing, adapted internal workflows, and what resources or tools they used or developed along the way. They will also reflect on outcomes for both the firm and the student participants, as well as lessons learned and ideas worth sharing.
The goal of this session is to demonstrate the flexibility of capX as a framework for mentorship, recruitment, and professional development, while offering practical guidance and peer insight for firms looking to get started or deepen their involvement.
